Shocking cases of brutal child abuse in Britain are causing dismay. With the wounds still fresh from the case of 6-year-old Arthur who died from torture by his guardians, 7-year-old Tony who lost both his legs because his parents beat him, and the 16-month-old girl who, after being brutally beaten by her mother's partner, succumbed to her injuries, a new story illuminates the darker aspects of domestic violence.

A five-year-old girl who was strangled by her mother died a tragic death. Reading the news, one wonders how it is possible for a mother to disown her own child, demonstrating such a chilling degree of callousness.

"Mummy, don't kill me" were the last words the little girl managed to utter before she passed away.

Little Alya Thomas stood helpless before the fury of her mother Martina Mandarova. The woman's insanity began to escalate when she approached the child with a sheet to suffocate her in their west London home.

According to British reports, the 41-year-old suffers from psychiatric disorders and developed an alcohol addiction during the quarantine.

The sentence imposed on her was five years in prison due to her health condition.

Friends and relatives of the 41-year-old in their statements had spoken of the latter's worrying condition during the coronavirus.

The financial problems and the difficulty she had to ensure her daughter's schooling added to her anxiety.
