Budget 2022 K. Hatzigiannis spoke about the need for unity due to Turkey's "attack"
The need to preserve unity in the country, especially at this time when Cyprus is being "attacked" by Turkey both on land with Famagusta and at sea, said DISY MP Kyriakos Hatzigiannis during his speech in Parliament on the 2022 state budget.
He also said that the 2022 budget "ensures both stability and growth", adding that in the current environment "these are the two pillars that the budget and financial planning of the operation of this state needs to have".
He also said that by not passing the budget, AKEL was depriving "the pensioner's pension, the vulnerable person's allowance, the refugee allowance, the employee's salary, the funding and everything else provided for in this budget".
Hatzigiannis said he was concerned with the unionism being developed by some people opposed to vaccination and called on the state to strengthen dialogue with people opposed to vaccination.
He said that "with the climate of hatred cultivated by some people, the people have pinned them down to rock bottom rates despite the mistakes of the government" and added that conspiracies come to naught, such as the conspiracy theory in relation to Crans Montana with "the scenario of innocent Turkey and the absolute blaming of the Greek Cypriot leader" and "the contractor campaign to defame Cyprus abroad for the allegedly inhuman living conditions of the refugees".
Also, Mr. Hatzigiannis called on the refugee world to endure and persevere in the struggle and reiterated his proposal "for a universal urban amnesty and the proceeds to be distributed to the fund of the Equal Burden Sharing Body".
He also referred to EU assistance both in financial support for Cyprus in 2013 and in the provision of vaccines and in countering Turkey's aggression, and said that "the sense of security of citizens is finally coming alive again by strengthening the National Guard."</BB-8
