The Mayor calls for the inclusion of Polis Chrysochous in the Housing Plan for the Revitalization of Mountainous Areas
The request for the inclusion of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous in the Housing Plan for the Revitalization of Mountainous Areas, The Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, Yiotis Papachristofis, is again raising the issue of the Urban Renewal Plan for Mountainous, Arcitic and Disadvantaged Areas.
Papachristofi says that the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous is one of the smallest municipalities in Cyprus and is an equally isolated and remote area in which the phenomenon of youth homelessness is strongly observed.[/B]
He also estimated that the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous should be included in this project, for the same reasons that other outlying municipalities and areas of Cyprus have been selected, as well as other communities which are developed, are geographically closer to urban centres and have a larger population compared to the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous.
Mr. Papachristofi also notes that the non-inclusion of the Municipality of Polis Chrysochous inevitably creates the feeling of injustice and unequal treatment to their citizens.
In this context, the Mayor of Polis Chrysochous invites both the President of the Republic and the Minister of Interior to take the appropriate political decision.
