The security measures taken by the Police since this morning due to the visit of the President of Israel Isaac Herzog to Cyprus are draconian.

Due to the arrival of the Israeli President, the Police will proceed with road closures from 10:00 in the morning until 16:00, according to the Headquarters Communications Officer, Sergeant Eleni Constantinou.

"The public is requested to follow all instructions given by the police officers on duty and to cooperate with them. There will be occasional short road closures, in Larnaca district, on the Larnaca - Nicosia motorway[/B] and in Nicosia district," she said.

For the security of the Israeli President, around 200 total force members from various agencies such as the MMAD of the Traffic Police will be on standby[/B] for the short visit of the high-profile guest, while the Police helicopter will also fly over for better control.

For the arrival of Isaac Herzog in Cyprus, a Crisis Management Centre has been operating since dawn, where the whole operation will be coordinated.

This is one of the biggest operations set up by the Police for the arrival of a high-ranking guest in Cyprus.
