[Cyprus Times] Kadis to Strasbourg for informal EU Agriculture Council, focusing on climate neutrality

In Strasbourg, Mr. On the agenda is the implementation of climate-friendly agricultural and forestry models

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Costas Kadis, is in Strasbourg to participate in the informal meeting of EU Agriculture and Rural Development Ministers, which starts today and will continue throughout the day tomorrow, Tuesday 8 February.

A statement by the Ministry of Agriculture, transmitted by the GMP, said that the Informal Council will focus on the implementation of climate-friendly agricultural and forestry models, as part of the European Union's efforts to achieve the ambitious goal of climate neutrality and carbon offsetting by 2050.

During the work of the informal meeting, Agriculture Ministers will discuss in this context practices and policies that could help improve carbon sequestration from agriculture as well as incentives for the development of private initiatives to finance carbon storage in agriculture.
