[Cyprus Times] Italian Prime Minister announces gradual lifting of restrictions and bans

The Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, said that in the coming weeks his country will gradually lift bans and restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the coming weeks we are going to gradually lift the various restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. By constantly monitoring the epidemiological data, we will announce specific dates for the end of the restrictions still in force, the Italian Prime Minister said.

The data concerning vaccinations are very encouraging.We want our country to reopen, especially for our young people, Mario Draghi added.

Today, as the press reports, the Italian government decided that for those who are fully vaccinated, even if in some areas there is an increase in cases, there will no longer be any kind of restrictions.

At the same time, the Italian Prime Minister stressed that his government wants to significantly reduce the use of tele-education and simplify the quarantine system for students. It is also confirmed that for citizens who have had all three doses of the coronavirus vaccine and for those infected after two doses of the vaccine,[/B] the green vaccine pass will have an unlimited duration.

The new coronavirus cases in the country are 118,994, while 395 patients died due to complications of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. A total of 964,521 diagnostic tests were conducted, 12.3% of which were positive. There are 1,524 patients in intensive care units (25 fewer than yesterday, Tuesday). In the hospital wards are 19,550, 323 less than yesterday Tuesday.
