Sentenced to 18 months in prison and stripped of rank More than 1000 photos and videos found on his computer and mobile phones

The scandal of illegal photographing of women serving in the country's army in private places by a young lieutenant is causing a sensation in Israel.

The perpetrator sat in the military court and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and removal of rank, after admitting his guilt.

As it became known, the former lieutenant secretly photographed - for the last two years - female officers and soldiers in private places. More than 1,000 photos and videos were found on his computer and mobile phones.

According to Israeli reports, the military prosecutor initially brought 81 charges against him, but the number was reduced with the officer pleading guilty to 45 charges, including committing indecent acts and attempted sexual harassment.

The military prosecutor pointed out that such incidents tarnish the image of the Israeli army, initially proposing a 3-year prison sentence, which was eventually reduced to 18 months. At the same time, the military command stripped the offender of the rank of lieutenant.

In a statement, Israeli Army Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi condemned the officer's "shameful" behavior, saying that he stands by the women who were his victims.
