Product withdrawal from the market Inform the Department of Electromechanical Services

The Department of Electromechanical Services informs the consuming public that it has identified the following product on the market, which does not comply with the essential safety requirements of the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment Directive (LVD), as it presents significant safety risks to the user. Therefore, the importer has voluntarily withdrawn it from the market.

Anyone who knows of a point of sale of such a product or needs additional information or clarification is requested to contact the Department of Electromechanical Services at 22800522 or email: director@ems.mcw.gov.cy or fax 22348202.

Consumers in possession of the above product are advised not to use it and to return it directly to the seller i.e. the store from which they purchased it.

It should be noted that according to the Consumer Protection Law of 2021, in case of purchase of an unsafe product, the consumer is entitled to a replacement of the product so that the product complies with the terms of the sales contract. If this is not possible, then the consumer is entitled to withdraw, i.e. to return the product to the seller and receive a refund of the full amount paid. It is recalled that the above rights are valid for a period of 2 years from the initial delivery of the product to the consumer and that the final seller is always solely liable to the consumer.

In case the seller refuses to comply with the above rights of the consumer, the consumer is invited to submit his/her complaint in writing via the website of the Consumer Protection Agency (www.consumer.gov.cy).
