The Paphos District Court issued a two-day detention order against a 32-year-old man for a case of driving under the influence of drugs, illegal possession of property and possession of burglary tools during the night, while a second person, aged 37, who had been arrested was released.

According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, on January 8, 2022, at around 22:00 at night in Chloraka, they stopped a vehicle for control, in which two persons were riding. The driver was a 32-year-old man, while the passenger was a 37-year-old man of the same nationality.

A preliminary drug test conducted on the driver revealed that the 32-year-old man tested positive. A second sample was taken from him which will be sent for laboratory testing purposes to the State General Chemistry Department.

The case is being investigated by the YKAN (Pafos Branch ) and the Pafos CID.
