A new case of child pornography is being investigated by the investigators of the Sub-Division of Electronic Crime, who yesterday proceeded to the arrest of a 31-year-old to facilitate the investigations.
The investigation of the case began after information was received that a particular internet user had in his possession and made available for sharing, files containing sexual abuse of a child.
From police investigations and following the issuance of a telecommunications data disclosure order, testimony against a 31-year-old resident of Limassol was secured.
Yesterday morning, a search was conducted at the home of the 31-year-old, where two computers and a mobile phone[/B] were located and seized, which will be sent for forensic examination.
The 31-year-old was arrested under a court warrant and detained to facilitate interrogations.
The Cybercrime Branch is investigating the case.
