44-year-old man detained for 6 days for fatal car crash in Paphos What he claims about the vehicle He was not driving it, he says on the fatal night An eyewitness refutes his claims Mirror belonging to another vehicle at the scene All the information Investigations continue at an intensive pace
The 44-year-old man who was arrested for the fatal car accident involving 60-year-old Androulla Papachristoforou in Paphos was placed under 6-day detention.
The 44-year-old man was brought before the Paphos District Court, where he once again denied involvement in the case. In his testimony he stated that the white saloon vehicle had been in his possession for the last 10 days in order to buy it from an expatriate who owned it. He insists, however, that on the fatal night he was not the driver.
What the 44 year old said seems to be contradicted by the testimony of the police. As the case examiner told the Court,in addition to the closed circuit, the 44 year old appears to place the 44 year old in the driver's seat at the time of the fatal accident and an eyewitness.

The piece that was missing from the vehicle
According to what was said in Court, at the time of the accident, the inner wing of the left wheel of the vehicle became detached and was left in place, which was missing from the vehicle the next day when it was found while the 44-year-old was trying to repair it.
Mirror from another vehicle at the scene
As it turns out, the mirror, which was also found at the scene, appears to belong to another vehicle and the possibility that a second vehicle may have been involved in the crash is being investigated. However, according to the findings of the investigations and in particular the closed circuits tested, this does not currently appear to be the case.
It is recalled that the new fatality occurred around 21.00 on Sunday, when the unfortunate Androulla Papachristophorou attempted to cross Priamou Street on foot, in the "Yuniversal" area. The driver of the vehicle hit her and left her seriously injured and helpless.
Doctors at Paphos Hospital made great efforts but the unfortunate woman expired a few hours later.
