The arrest of a 55-year-old Paphos resident[/b] was made today by the Police to facilitate investigations into a new investigated case of child pornography.
The investigation of the case began after information received through Europol, according to which a particular internet user[/b] had uploaded five files of images of sexual abuse of a child through his account on an electronic data storage service.[/b]
Investigations by the Cybercrime Branch found that the suspect account belonged to the 55-year-old. A court arrest warrant was secured against him, under which he was arrested and taken into custody.
A mobile phone was found in his possession and seized as evidence, while after a search at his home two computers were found and seized. All seized evidence will be subjected to scientific examination.
The Cybercrime Branch is investigating the case.
