Angry about the management of the pandemic He made threats via twitter He was tracked down and on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor and the Chief of Police he was charged in writing

Social media may give the possibility of anonymity to the real user but this does not mean that when circumstances require it, he cannot be tracked down. This was the case with a twitter user who, last week, made a post concerning threats in relation to the management of the pandemic.

The police were informed of the incident and the person who made the post has been identified.

Following consultation between the Attorney General and the Chief of Police, he was charged in writing for the offences of incitement to commit a criminal offence and threat of violence.

The case is being investigated by the Electronic Crime Sub-Directorate.
