Paphos Police are investigating a case of assault causing actual bodily harm
A case of assault causing actual bodily harm, alarm and malicious damage is being investigated by the Paphos Police against a 40-year-old man.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michalis Ioannou, yesterday at 09:00 am, it was reported to the Pegeia Police Station by a resident of Pegeia aged 78 years old, that around 08:15 while she was with her son aged 53 years old at their residence in Pegeia, a dog entered their yard.
The complainant knew the owner of the dog and called him by phone to come and pick it up. According to the complaint, the owner of the dog, 40 years old, went to the complainant's address and upon his arrival her son asked him to be more careful with the guarding of his dog. Then the 40-year-old allegedly attacked and pushed the 53-year-old against the railing located in the yard of his house, causing it to give way and the 53-year-old to fall from a height of approximately 1.5 meters.
An ambulance was called to the scene and transported the 53-year-old to the Accident and Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital where the doctor on duty diagnosed that he had a fractured ribs, a fractured left clavicle and abrasions on other parts of his body and he was kept for treatment in the surgical ward of Paphos General Hospital. An arrest warrant was issued against the 40-year-old man and he has not been located and is wanted.
Investigations into the case are continuing.
