Robbery - Theft - Conspiracy to commit a felony Arrest of two persons

The arrest of two persons, a teenager aged 17 years and a man aged 34 years, were arrested yesterday by members of the police in connection with investigated cases of robbery, theft,[/B] and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Specifically, shortly before 5.30 yesterday afternoon, citizens reported to police that, the 17-year-old, entered the residence of an 88-year-old woman[/B] and stole a wallet, containing the sum of 1,000 euros, while when the 88-year-old woman noticed the 17-year-old woman and asked for an explanation for her presence in the house, the suspicious young woman pushed her[/B] and fled[/B],[/B] entering the yard of an adjacent house.

The 88-year-old called for help from her neighbours, who located the 17-year-old, whom the 88-year-old identified as the young woman who stole her wallet and money.

The wallet was then found discarded in a nearby spot, while it contained a 50 euro note.

According to the complaint received by the police, a man residing in the area found that his wallet, containing the sum of 200 euros, had been stolen from his parked car.

Members of the police rushed to the area for tests, which revealed evidence that, the 17-year-old had given the wallet with the money she allegedly stole to another suspect.

Evidence also emerged that the 34-year-old suspect, who allegedly stole the wallet from the parked car, was with her in the area.



Arrest warrants were issued against the 17-year-old and the 34-year-old for police investigation purposes, with police members proceeding initially to arrest the 17-year-old, and after searching for and locating the 34-year-old around 1.30 midnight, in an apartment in Limassol, also proceeded to arrest him.

The two were detained for investigation of the cases of robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit a felony, with the Limassol CID continuing the examinations.
