A person, aged 26 years, was detained on Monday in a case of impersonation in Paphos.
According to a spokesman for the Paphos Police Directorate, this person went to the Paphos airport yesterday with the intention of departing for France. During the passport control, this person presented a Greek travel document and a Greek residence permit, which belonged to another person.
When questioned, he admitted that he is a national of an African country and an applicant for political asylum. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Investigations are continuing by the Paphos Police.
