Two people in custody for impersonation cases in Paphos
Two impersonation cases are being investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department against two persons aged 28 and 21 years old.
According to the Press Spokesman and Head of the Paphos CID Michael Nicolaou , a woman of African origin was presented at Paphos airport, who during passport control presented a German passport, the authenticity of which was suspected.
On further examination the woman was found to be originally from Congo and aged 28 years. The 28-year-old was arrested and placed in custody while the offence of impersonation is being investigated against her.
The second case at around 15:35 yesterday involved a man who presented himself at Paphos airport for the purpose of leaving Paphos airport with a French passport. During the passport check, suspicions were raised about the authenticity of the passport.
It was eventually established that it was a 21-year-old man from Congo. The 21-year-old man was arrested and taken into custody and the offence of impersonation is being investigated against him.
Investigations are continuing by Paphos CID.
