Arrest of two persons for conspiracy to commit a felony

In the context of investigating cases of theft of catalytic converters from cars, offences committed between the dates of 1 - 17 March, 2022 in the city and district of Larnaca, members of the Larnaca CID located yesterday afternoon in the parking lot of an apartment building in Larnaca, a car in which a person was in.

Examinations carried out revealed that an arrest warrant for the offences of conspiracy to commit a felony, as well as burglary of a building and theft, was pending against the person in question, aged 37, and he was arrested.

Inside the vehicle, four cut catalytic converters were found for which the 37-year-old was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation as to their origin and possession. A number of vehicle parts were also found, as well as an emery board.

During the investigation, evidence was obtained against a 21-year-old woman, who was arrested on the basis of a court warrant.

The two arrested persons were taken into custody while the Larnaca CID continues the investigations.
