The morning meeting between the Minister of Labor and the President of DISY on the issue of unemployment benefits for hotel employees of the free Famagusta region had a positive sign.

According to what was announced after the meeting, an arrangement will be made for the four categories of hotel employees who do not receive unemployment benefit and will receive support from the state.

Specifically, in a statement after the meeting, the president of DISY, Averof Neophytou, said that after a telephone consultation with the Minister of Finance, the competent Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, but also with the instructions of the President of the Republic, based on the request and the intervention of the FCC for hotel employees, "we are pleased to announce that there is an arrangement for solving the problem for all four categories".

Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance, Zeta Emylianidou, said in turn that she has given instructions after a meeting with the president of DISY, so that this problem can also be resolved, so that those workers who will not receive unemployment benefits can also be supported, as we have supported for two years all workers who will remain without income.

"We will also support this group so that they can have a benefit in a way that will allow them to continue their lives," she added.
