[Cyprus Times] Greece: 36,300 young people under 17 fell ill in one week

One in four Covid 19 patients in the week 10 January 2022 16 January 2022 were under 17 years of age the National Health Service announced today.

According to the National Health Service's daily epidemiological study, the total number of patients aged 4-18 years in this period is 36.300, constituting 25% (39% from the previous week) in the total number of cases.

In the week 10 January 2022 16 January 2022, the positivity rate was 6.11% in a total of 2,372,747 laboratory tests (RT-PCR/Rapid-Ag) and 1.31% in a total of 2,888,316 self-diagnostic tests. In all tests, the positivity rate was 2.76%.

The highest rate was recorded in Florina with 4.69%, followed by Mykonos with 3.97%, Rethymno with 3.94%, the centre of Athens with 3.92%, Kastoria with 3.81%, Piraeus with 3.77%, Chania with 3.74%, West Attica with 3.68%, Tinos with 3.61% and Rhodes with 3.52%.

The admissions of new patients in the same period were 3,884, while the total number of discharges due to cure was 3,192. The ratio of new patient admissions to discharges due to cure was 1.22.
