Προσφορά. One word, a thousand emotions. Only someone who goes from theory to practice can experience them to the fullest. And if what you give is a gift of life, then words are too few to describe anything.

Christmas is a time when the need for giving "awakens" as a natural human need. We are all given the opportunity to prove to little Luke Stavrou from Paphos that we are all fellow travellers in his great struggle. He may be the real fighter but all the rest of us are at his side.

A few years ago, the now eight-year-old Lucas defeated leukaemia but the disease returned for a second time and now he is fighting a new battle from which he must emerge victorious again.

In the last few hours a post has circulated on social media that we wish was true or at least verified very soon. The post stated that little Lucas had found a compatible donor.

The Cyprus Times contacted the boy's father, Andreas Stavrou, who said that unfortunately this is not the case.[/B] He noted that probably, someone misinterpreted what he heard and that is why this information was circulated.

Therefore, those who want to give hope to Luca and his family should help through the work of the Karaiskakio Foundation by giving a sample of genetic material through saliva.

In order to become a bone marrow donor, a person must be 18-44 years old, be a permanent resident of Cyprus and have no serious health problems (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases).

Waiting to go abroad... Financial support

The boy and his family are currently on hold as his father told us "the doctors next week will decide after a meeting with doctors from Germany and England whether we will go abroad".

Bank accounts have already been set up so that those who are willing and able to financially support the family's struggle with every contribution being important.
