The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, Prodromos Prodromou, had a meeting with the General Secretary of PEO, Sotiroula Charalambous and the General Secretary of SIDHEKEK-PEO, Nikos Grigoriou, who represented the Artists' Guild of the Guild, today, Tuesday.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Education, the meeting was also attended, on the part of the Ministry, by the Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Kyprianos Louis, Director of Cultural Services.
In the framework of the meeting, information was given on the progress of the examination of the bill for the creation of a Deputy Ministry of Culture, as well as on the progress of the work on the legislative proposal for securing the professional status of artists and workers in the field of culture.
At the same time, reference was made to the Minister's intention to prepare a legislative proposal to encourage sponsorship for cultural creation.
A constructive discussion followed and views were expressed by the trade union organisation.
