Free and free admission to 12 museums of the Department of Antiquities with ministerial decision Detailed list
The proposal presented by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousos, regarding the amendment of the existing Antiquities Regulations, was approved by the Council of Ministers at its meeting today.
The purpose of the amendments to the Regulations proposed by the Council of Ministers is to incorporate into them policy decisions that have been taken and, among others, concern the abolition of entrance fees to 12 museums under the Department of Antiquities.
Specifically, the 12 museums to which entrance will be free and free of charge are:
- Cyprus Museum
- Ethnological Museum (Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios House).
- Local Ethnological Museum of Fikardo (House of Hodges Khoros Khoros Georgios Khoros (House of Khoros Khoros Khoros House)
- Local Archaeological Museum of Ancient Idali and Archaeological Site
- Museum of the Cyprus Railway of Evrychos
- Archaeological Museum of Larnaca District
- Local Ethnological Museum of Traditional Embroidery and Silversmithing, Lefkara
- Archaeological Museum of Limassol District
- Local Archaeological Museum of Kourion
- Paphos District Archaeological Museum
- Museum of Folk Art of Geroskipou
- Local Archaeological Museum of Mariou-Arsinoi, Polis Chrysochous
In addition, the amendments to the Regulations provide for the addition to the groups entitled to free admission to Museums and Ancient Monuments of two new categories of beneficiaries, namely families with three children and pensioners.
Finally, it was resolved that provisions be added to the existing Regulations to allow civil marriages to be performed in designated Ancient Monuments and Museums upon payment of specific fees and with a specified number of persons permitted to attend.
These Regulations will be submitted to the House of Representatives for approval.
