Finland has no plans at present to join NATO, Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said today amid heightened security tensions between neighbouring Russia and Ukraine.
Finland is not discussing NATO membership with NATO, nor does Finland have such a plan imminent Finland's security policy remains unchanged, Haavisto told reporters in a teleconference after a meeting of foreign ministers of European Union member states in France.
Yesterday Thursday, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken hinted in an interview on MSNBC that Finland wants to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
