[Cyprus Times] Fines totalling 6 thousand euros to businesses for breaching the measures

The police made 19 complaints in the last 24 hours, for non-compliance with measures against the pandemic

In 13 complaints of citizens and 6 managers of establishments for violation of the law on infectious diseases, the police made in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, until 06:00 on Tuesday morning, a total of 1,600 checks were carried out throughout Cyprus, which resulted in a total of 19 complaints and extrajudicial fines of €500 €1,500 were served.

In Nicosia 407 checks were carried out and complaints were lodged against 2 premises managers and 2 citizens, in Limassol 170 checks were carried out and complaints were lodged against 2 premises managers and 1 citizen, in Larnaca 424 checks were carried out and complaints were lodged against 2 premises managers and 1 citizen, in Paphos 44 checks were carried out without any complaints, in Famagusta 292 checks were carried out and 4 citizens complained, while in Morphou no complaints were made after 136 checks.

No complaints were made following 117 checks by the Traffic Police and 10 checks by the Port and Maritime Police. At airports, 5 citizens complained, 4 at Paphos airport and 1 at Larnaca airport.

During the complaints against persons in charge of establishments, fines totalling €6000 were served.

In Nicosia, a fine of €1,000 was served on a premises manager who did not have a safe pass, and a fine of €750 was served on a premises where a safe pass was not checked.

In Limassol a fine of €1.500 was imposed on an establishment where a safe pass check was not carried out, while a fine of €1,500 was also imposed on an establishment where an employee was working without a protective mask.



In Larnaca, a fine of €750 was given to an establishment where an employee was working without a protective mask, and a fine of €500 was given to another establishment where the employee did not wear a protective mask.
