Farmers affected by the catastrophic fires in 2021 are financially supported
The Agricultural Payments Agency is financially supporting farmers affected by the catastrophic fires in 2021.
An announcement of the Agency states that the financial support to the affected farmers is included in the measure for "Investment support for the restoration of agricultural potential" under the Cyprus Rural Development Programme 2014 2020.
Through Measure 5.2, financial support is provided to farmers affected by the devastating fires that broke out:
- on 16/6/21 in the Communities of Agia Marina Xyliatou and Platanistassa,
- on 26/6/2021 in the Communities of Koilis and Talas,
- on 3/7/2021 in the Communities of Arakapa, Eptagonia, Akapnou, Διεrona, Odou, Oras, Melini, Sikopetra, Agios Vavatsinias and Vavatsinias and
- on 19/9/21 in the Communities of Yolos, Simos, Drymos and Drynia
According to the announcement, "the measure provides support to affected farmers who have restored or intend to restore their agricultural potential (e.g.Applications may be submitted until Friday, 20 May 2022[/B]
Applications may be submitted until Friday, 20 May 2022 (23:59 hrs.pm) online via the website: www.eas.capo.gov.cy.
Please note that applications may only be submitted through accredited consultants approved for this purpose by the Department of Agriculture.
