Measures in Greece extended until 23 January The Ministry of Health announced the extension of the current measures to deal with the pandemic for at least one week
The extension of the current measures for at least one week was announced by the Ministry of Health of Greece, following the recommendation of the Committee of Epidemiologists, which met earlier.
Looking at the country's latest epidemiological data, the scientists apparently judged that the measures to contain the pandemic, which came into force in the last days of 2021, should not be varied, dashing hopes for the return of music in restaurants and entertainment.
The Ministry's statement
"Today, Wednesday 12/1, the Ministry of Health's Expert Committee met to review the latest epidemiological data in the country. It was decided to extend the measures in force for one week."
The measures in force. Music will be prohibited.
-Prohibition of organised parties in private and/or public places, "in order to avoid the transfer of mass evening entertainment to other rented premises for parties, even with payment".
-Mandatory use of high protection masks (FFP2/KN95), or double masks, by workers in restaurants, transport, supermarkets and wherever there are crowds.
-In stadiums, the occupancy of vaccinated spectators will be up to 10% of capacity, with a spectator limit of 1,000 people.
-In elderly care facilities, visits will be made only with a 48-hour pcr test, while in nursing homes, medical visitors are prohibited and checks in visiting rooms are intensified.
-Working hours in the public and private sectors will be reduced by up to 50%, while rolling hours will also apply.
Details for restaurants, entertainment venues, hotels
A. Operation of establishments licensed as a health establishment and providing catering services indoors, including those inside arcades, closed shopping centres and long-distance stations, only as pure premises, exclusively for fully vaccinated persons or persons who have fallen ill in the last three months, only for seated persons, in compliance with the measures, observing the conditions for avoiding crowding and the distances between table seats and hygiene rules and subject to the following conditions:
a) Possibility to operate from 5:00 to 00:00.
b) No music.
c) Up to six (6) persons per table.
d) Cleaning of lists when customers change tables.
e) Mandatory use of masks, subject to the requirements of Item 1 of Table A, by staff, as well as by customers when arriving, leaving and moving within the establishment. In particular, staff shall wear only a high respiratory protection mask (FFP2 or N95) or alternatively a double mask (surgical and cloth).
f) Clients enter upon compulsory demonstration at the entrance:
[A][A] certificate of vaccination or
[C][D] certificate of disease
Minors from four (4) to seventeen (17) years of age may present, alternatively, a negative selftest statement
The requirements for the operation of indoor catering establishments also apply to the operation of catering services and the operation of indoor banquet facilities, subject to the provision for seated guests only, subject to any movements necessary for the reception.
For open outdoor catering areas
The operation of businesses, in an open outdoor area, licensed as an establishment of sanitary interest and providing catering services, for seated guests only, in compliance with the measures, subject to the crowding avoidance and table spacing requirements and hygiene rules, which form an integral part of this document and with the following sanitary conditions:
a) (p.p.p.); p.p.p. (a) The possibility to operate from 5:00 to 00:00. E
b) No music.
c) Up to six (6) persons per table.
d) Disposal of lists when customers change tables.
e) Mandatory use of masks, subject to specifications, by staff, as well as by customers when arriving, leaving and moving within the establishment. In particular, staff shall wear only a mask of high respiratory protection (FFP2 or N95) or alternatively a double mask (surgical and fabric).
f) Clients shall enter upon compulsory presentation upon entry of:[BR][A][A] vaccination certificate, in accordance with para. 2 of Article 9; or
a certificate of contagiousness, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 9; or
a certificate of contagiousness, in accordance with paragraph 2 of Article 9. Article 9(3); or
[C] a certificate of a negative diagnostic test for coronavirus COVID-19 (PCR or rapid test). Minors between the ages of four (4) and seventeen (17) may alternatively provide a statement of a negative selftest.
An open outdoor area for the activities of this item is defined as an area outside the boundary line of the building in which the establishment is located that is open on at least two (2) sides.
Sides of the premises with windbreaks up to one meter and thirty-three inches (1.3) from the floor of the premises shall not be considered open.
The side of an open outdoor space shall not be considered to be the roof of the open outdoor space, if any.
The open outdoor space rules shall also apply to outdoor spaces located in ventilated galleries.
Possibility of operation, at the option of the business, with appropriate signage, exclusively seated, with an audience of only persons who have been vaccinated or become ill in the last three months (and exclusively minors with a negative self-test, in accordance with par. 3 and 4 of Article 9), applying mutatis mutandis the measures in points 1, 3, 4 and 5 of Table A, the measures foreseen for certification in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 5 of Table A, the measures foreseen for certification in paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 5 of Table A and the measures for certification in paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 of Table A. 2 and 3 of Article 9 and the abovementioned operating rules for enclosed spaces.
The requirements for the operation of businesses in an open (outdoor) area also apply:
a) to the operation of catering services and the operation of outdoor banqueting areas, subject to the provision for the accommodation of seated guests only, subject to any movements necessary for the reception), b) to the operation of restaurants, refreshment rooms and cafés of hotels located outdoors.
C. The present measures shall also apply to the operation of wineries where wine tasting or tasting tours are conducted.
