The last day of January includes clouds, local rain and isolated thunderstorms while the temperature has begun to gradually rise. The snow depth at Troodos Square, around five this morning, was 78 cm.
Relatively low pressure is affecting the area.
Today the weather will be partly cloudy with localised showers at times and isolated thunderstorms initially on the coast and later inland. Snowfall is expected in the higher mountains. Winds will initially be southeast to southwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the afternoon southwest to west, of the same strength. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 15 degrees inland and on the coast and around 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be partly cloudy. Winds will be mainly northwest, light, 3 Beaufort and the sea will be up to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 4 degrees inland, around 8 degrees on the coast and around zero in the higher mountains, where frost will form locally.
On Tuesday the weather is expected to be mainly cloudy with a chance of isolated light rain or light snowfall, locally in the higher mountains. Late in the evening local showers or thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the western half of the island and in the south.
On Wednesday the weather will be partly cloudy and partly cloudy with local showers, mainly in the southern half of the island, and some snowfall on the higher peaks of the Troodos.
On Thursday, localised showers at times, isolated thunderstorms are expected, as well as snowfall on the higher peaks of the Troodos.
The temperature will rise slightly over the three-day period to be close to average climatic values.
