A new "explosion" of cases occurred today as 835 new cases of Covid-19 disease were detected.
What is of great concern, however, are the 17 cases diagnosed in closed structures as, as the Cyprus Times reports, these are migrants staying at the Pournara Temporary Accommodation Centre in Kokkinotrimithia. They are not the only ones as 48 others were announced yesterday.
The cases have already been transferred to the Eden Resort in Tersefanou where they are in self-containment.
However, fears of dispersal are increasing due to the conditions at "Pournara" and the large number of contacts the cases are likely to have.
The serious issue that has arisen is expected to be brought before the Council of Ministers, whose members will be briefed by the Minister of Health.
Meanwhile, just twenty-four hours before schools close for the holidays, the coronavirus continues to be present in classrooms. According to the Ministry of Health and the official announcement, 27 cases have been detected in primary schools and another 25 in secondary schools today.
