A fire turned into a tragedy in the Nicosia district.
According to the first information, around 5.45 in the morning, a fire broke out in a vacant building of a company in the area of Astromeritis.
Members of the Fire Brigade immediately rushed to the scene, while the owner managed to bring the fire under control a little earlier.
A few minutes after the fire was extinguished, a 40-year-old worker from Romania was found unconscious and was taken by ambulance to the Nicosia Hospital where doctors on duty found his death.
The causes of the fire are being investigated in cooperation with the police.
According to initial assessments, it appears that the fire broke out for unknown reasons from the kitchen.
