"Our president has already informed both leaders that our preparations have been completed and that we can host them. With the emergence of a plan (solution), we will conclude our efforts to end the war with a meeting to be held in Istanbul or Ankara. The fact that Turkey is a valid mediator is appreciated by everyone," Chelik said after a meeting of the AKP central committee chaired by Tayyip Erdogan.
On Turkey's diplomatic efforts, the AKP spokesman said that "almost everyone is curious about Turkey's negotiating performance and wants to talk to our president to get information or to express their support for us."
He also argued that "it has been shown that without Turkey, a basic architecture can never be created. It does not make sense for the EU to hold a Leaders' Summit on Ukraine without Turkey." He said "at the leaders' summit, our president should definitely be there."
