Press release of the EPP on the Cyprus problem and the MEAs "Of the many MEAs that have been repeatedly discussed, which MEAs did the occupying regime or Turkey grant to our side?"

"Of the many MEAs that have been repeatedly discussed, which MEAs did the occupation regime or Turkey grant to our side?", the EPEK asks in a statement, while noting that the repetition of the same process for about 45 years has yielded nothing.

The statement of the EPP:

The repetition of the same process that for 45 years has yielded nothing, but instead has capitalized additional political and not only benefits to the occupying regime and Turkey, leaves no hope for a positive outcome.

Of all the MEAs that have been discussed repeatedly, which MEAs has the occupation regime or Turkey granted to our side?

No measure has been granted. So why are we trying to repeat a failed process?

For the EPP, the Cyprus problem is not an issue of a bicommunal settlement nor a problem that can be solved with MEAs.

For the EPP, the Cyprus problem is not an issue of a bicommunal settlement nor a problem that can be solved with MEAs. It is an international problem of invasion, continued occupation and ethnic cleansing and must be treated as such.

That is why we insist on the decision of the General Assembly to convene an International Conference to discuss the real substance of the Cyprus problem as an issue of invasion and occupation.
