The new offices of the Municipality of K.Polemidion

Finally in the serial with the ownership of the building of the former SPC Polemidion, which was occupied last June by the Municipality of Kato Polemidion to house its offices.

By decision of the Council of Ministers, the building was granted to the Municipality, which announces its relocation to it by Tuesday, February 1.

In a statement today, the Municipality of Lower Polemidia expresses satisfaction with the decision of the Council of Ministers to grant it the building of the former SPC Polemidia.

As a result, the offices of the Municipality are to move permanently to the premises located at 14, 1st Road, No. 14 (building of the former SPC Polemidia).

It is noted that this building will house the General Administration, the Administration and Personnel Department, the Finance Department, the Treasury and the Health Department.

The move to the new offices will take place on Monday, January 31 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.

Due to the move, the telephone lines of the above departments will not be in operation and the City's cashiers will be closed. For convenience purposes, the public may contact the City's Technical Services and the Citizen Services Office at 25-732290 and 25731979, respectively.



Finally, our citizens are requested to show due understanding and avoid coming to the Municipality's offices except for urgent matters.

It is recalled that the issue arose when the Municipal Authorities, who were claiming this particular building of the former Polemidia Municipality for a new Municipal Hall, due to the unsuitability of the existing building, were informed of the decision of the Council of Ministers to grant it to the Municipality of Famagusta.

On 9 June, the municipal authorities of Polemidia occupied the building and the case was taken to court, which issued an injunction forcing the Municipality to move again to the Technical Services building.

Finally, by a decision taken on 21 December 2021, the Council of Ministers decided to grant the building of the former Polemidia Municipality to the Municipality of Polemidia, while another building was granted for the housing needs of the Famagusta Municipality.
