Ministry of Health announcement on rapid test employee screening Clarification on who is required to provide a negative test What applies to employers
The Ministry of Health reminds that according to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on 21 December 2021, all employees who completed their Covid-19 vaccination programme with two doses for bivalent vaccines and one dose for monovalent vaccine, or hold a certificate of infection (180-day duration) are required to provide a negative 7-day antigen rapid test.
- Checks by the competent services will start on 29 December.
- Each organisation, company or enterprise may designate a specific day on which employees will be tested for the weekly rapid test.
- The checking of persons undergoing the rapid test on a weekly basis will be done by showing a written message or presenting the result in paper form.
- For employees (18+) who have not received any dose of the vaccine, screening will continue via the CovScan Cyprus application for the 72-hour PCR and 48-hour rapid test.
- Employees who have received the booster/3rd dose of vaccine are exempted from testing and providing a negative test.
- For vaccinated persons or persons infected with COVID-19 or persons excluded from vaccination for medical reasons, the rapid test is provided free of charge at the sampling points. This also applies to persons who have received at least one dose of vaccine and the period required to receive the second dose has not elapsed.
- It is clarified that if a chain of transmission is recorded in a workplace, all workers without exception will be tested.
