The serious and chronic problems faced by pensioners and in need of immediate resolution were communicated last week in a letter and memo by EKYSY to the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Anastasia Anthousi.
According to a statement, EKYSY assured the Deputy Minister that it will cooperate with her and her State Ministry to solve the very serious problems faced by the elderly, requesting an immediate meeting to discuss them.
The organization requested the immediate restoration of communication with the Welfare Benefits Management Service, which is difficult or even impossible.
Among other things, the CSUSY called for the resolution of the weaknesses and errors that it says must be corrected immediately in the plan to support pensioners with low incomes, and for the poverty line to be revised to 834 euros per month for single persons and 1271 euros for a two-person pensioner household, based on the new data.
Furthermore, it calls for not counting in the annual income of low pensioners the sponsorship from the KOAP or the contribution for the GESY and the student sponsorship and to reintroduce the income criteria and the amount of the amount that was in force in 2012 in the case of low pensioners,
