Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is positive for coronavirus, but his general condition is good

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew[/B] has been diagnosed positive for coronavirus, as part of the regular diagnostic tests carried out at the Phanar.

His Holiness, who is fully vaccinated, is currently experiencing mild symptoms, but his general condition is good.

Immediately after the diagnosis, he visited the city's main hospital for further preventive examinations.

The Ecumenical Patriarch thanks all those who have expressed their interest in his state of health and paternally urges, once again, everyone to follow the recommendations of doctors and specialists, as well as those who have not yet been vaccinated, to do so for their own good and that of society as a whole.

He takes this opportunity to wish everyone a merry and blessed Christmas.
