A quantity of drugs and a number of arrests are the result of sweeping searches conducted by the police in the afternoon in Larnaca District, as reported in a previous Cyprus Times.
During the operation, searches were carried out at the premises of a number of persons, with members of the police having proceeded to the arrest of four persons, following the detection of drugs in their possession and premises.In the premises of two of the four suspects arrested, a quantity of cannabis weighing close to 60 grams and a quantity of cannabis weighing close to 100 grams, respectively, were recovered and seized. The two suspects are being investigated for possession of drugs for the purpose of supplying them to other persons.
A small quantity of cannabis was found in the possession of the other two suspects who were arrested. Cases of drug possession are being investigated against them.
The investigations have been completed, while examinations continue by the YKAN and the Larnaca CID.
