Carrying around with "borrowed" Safe Pass Arrests for impersonation in Nicosia and Limassol One of the two is a minor
The police yesterday arrested two persons for the offence of impersonation.
The two arrests were made as part of police checks on premises for compliance with the provisions of the Infectious Diseases Law.
In one case, members of the police went to an establishment in the prefecture of Nicosia last night and during a check on a minor person, he showed an electronic safe pass that belonged to another person.
The minor person was arrested for an indictable offence and was subsequently discharged from custody and summoned to appear before the police at a later stage.
In the second case, during a check carried out last night by members of the Police on a patron of an establishment in Lemesos prefecture, the latter indicated a safe pass, which belonged to another person.
The said person was arrested for an offence of his own accord and then after being charged in writing, was released from custody to be summoned at a later date. He was also issued an out-of-court fine in relation to the Infectious Diseases Act.
Examinations are continuing.
