Many cafes, restaurants and nightclubs have replaced the papers used to wipe our hands with dryers in the toilets. Something that at first glance helps the environment, but it seems that the truth is somewhat different.
According to a doctor famous on TikTok under the username "MadMedicine", with 1.2 million accounts following him, there is no way he should be using hand dryers.
"I hate to be the one to tell you this bad news, but hand dryers in public restrooms are disgusting and spread a lot of bacteria. There are studies that say they spread more than towels," he said in his viral video.
According to the Guardian, filters inside hand dryers can catch up to 99.5% of particles as small as 0.3 microns or even larger, yet more than a few people dispute this.
