Announcement of the Democratic Rally on the resignation of the Foreign Minister

Pindarou is clearly disturbed by what Nikos Christodoulides said at today's press conference announcing his resignation as Foreign Minister and openly expressing for the first time his interest in the 2023 presidential elections.

In a statement issued by the Democratic Rally, Mr. Christodoulides was given every opportunity to work within the party that raised and promoted him, instead of deciding on another course.

The option of a democratic election was also given, he adds, where our 51,000 members will choose freely. "Calling such a process a 'jungle and anarchy' is a slip that shows contempt for the base and democracy," it says.

However, it adds, this option remains open until tomorrow.

"The people of the Democratic Rally have memory and judgment. That is why it will not allow the carpet to be rolled out for AKEL, nor will it allow a repeat of 2003.

We continue. United and strong. With the conviction that the interest of the homeland passes through a Democratic Uprising strong and victorious. Our unity will again be the best answer", the statement concludes.
