The recommendations expected to be put on the table at the meeting of the Minister of Health-Epidemiologists Expect the much-needed relaxations citizens see epidemiologists Hatzipandela sees epidemiologists on Tuesday morning and immediately goes to the Cabinet with the recommendations in hand
With time counting down to Tuesday's Cabinet[/B], when decisions on the scientists' recommendations are expected to be made, citizens are waiting to see whether the much-needed relaxations will come, if the epidemiological picture allows it.
Although daily case numbers remain high, the positivity rate is stabilising, and hospitals also seem to have somewhat "breathed a sigh of relief", with the number of inpatients recorded daily being below 200.
The Minister of Health is being released from quarantine and tomorrow morning he will discuss with the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee, and shortly afterwards he will present the recommendations they will arrive at before the Council of Ministers. Already, the recommendations of committee members have begun to come before Michael Hadjipandela, who signaled via the Cyprus Times on Saturday that the relaxations will come gradually. The Ministry of Health does not want under any circumstances to relax everything and in the end we will have fears of a backlash," he clarified.
As mentioned in a previous post, the majority of epidemiologists believe that it is time to end the separation of citizens into vaccinated and unvaccinated.
According to reports, the recommendations expected to be put on the table at the Health Minister-Epidemiologists meeting tomorrow morning are:
-Access of persons without a history of vaccination to places where they have so far been banned (restaurants, stadiums, Increase the number of people per table in catering from the current 8 to 12 people
-Increase the number of people at weddings-birthdays and possibly at stadiums
-Reduction of telecommuting from the current 50% to 25%
At the same time, the extension of the test to stay in the civil service is also expected to be discussed.
As in any case, final decisions will be taken by the Council of Ministers, as the competent body.
