Dialogue aimed at supporting school units, says PDOED What is stressed in a statement
The demand "is the essential support of our school units, which due to the consequences of the pandemic are experiencing an extremely difficult situation", says, in a statement, the PDOED, adding that the demand is the dialogue.
"The aim of our Organization was and remains the resolution of the problems and not the conflict," it adds.
Following public statements about the need for a meaningful dialogue between PDOED and the Ministry of Education to defuse the crisis, which has been created recently in the field of education, the Organization reiterates once again its readiness to resubmit its positions: Initiation of diagnostic checks in Kindergartens in order to keep them open and safe, dispatch of full-time substitutes in all cases, initiation of an institutional dialogue to resolve issues related to substitutes, announcement of a timetable for the installation of ventilation systems and/or devices in all schools.
"The above demands of the PDPA have been submitted for some time and are known to the Official Side," it is stated.
They are demands, it adds, "aimed at the safety and health of children and teachers as well as the smooth and orderly functioning of schools under the circumstances.
"We hope for a positive response from the Ministry of Education, so that peace and normalcy can be brought to the sensitive area of education, through the resolution of the problems that have been created," the organization concludes in its statement.
