The coroner refers to a shocking case of the murder of a two-month-old baby in Cyprus The investigations are in the final stretch, the following week is crucial

The president of the Hellenic Forensic Society, Grigoris Leon returned to the case of the three dead children in Patras in a new Facebook post, while the investigation into the circumstances of the deaths has entered the final stretch and the preliminary investigation proceeds.

In this post, Mr. Leo cites the literature, and in particular DiMaio's book on forensic medicine, on the effects of obstruction of the external orifices of the airways.

Mr. Leo writes:

-Bradicardia
-Decrease in respiration to agonal breathing and eventual cessation

A few hours earlier, the coroner in another Facebook post had referred to a shocking case of the murder of a two-month-old infant in Cyprus, which was initially reported by the parents as an accident and after the autopsy the father confessed.

"A two-month-old infant ended up in Cyprus this week. The parents claimed that the infant died during feeding and that they took him directly to the hospital. The autopsy found that the infant's death was caused by severe head injury and at an earlier time than reported. Following the findings of the coroners, the father confessed."

Investigations in the home stretch

The week ahead looks set to be decisive, as investigations into the circumstances of the deaths appear to be entering the home stretch. The investigations will include the findings of the toxicology examination of Georgina, the third child of the family from Patras, with scientists believing they will get the answers they want as the data has been thoroughly analysed.

Within the week, the informal committee of forensic experts set up into the deaths of the three children will have a final conclusion.

It appears that scientists have already gathered the evidence they were looking for from the medical records of both Malena and Iris. In fact, in two of the three cases they conclude that the deaths were not due to pre-existing conditions or a genetic cause, but were caused by an unprovoked pathological lack of oxygen.

Authorities are trying to put together the final pieces of the puzzle, with the parents of the three girls, however, maintaining the same cold attitude while asking for respect in their grief.
