Circle of contacts with the parliamentary parties started by OKYPY The aim is the cooperation of all for the financial and administrative autonomy of the Organization "Committed to the goal" says the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OKYPY, Mr. Marios Panagidis

A round of contacts with all parliamentary parties has been initiated by the management of the State Health Services Agency (SHS Agency). The meetings began on Tuesday, December 7 and will be completed in January.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OKYPY, Mr Marios Panagidis, said that "in order to achieve the great goal, which is the autonomy of our hospitals, the cooperation of all is important. We assure you that both the Board of Directors and the Management of OKYPY remain committed to the goal of transforming it into a modern, flexible and efficient organization and we are optimistic that this effort will succeed. We also aim to become even better for our patients by continuously improving the services we offer."

"We thank the parties for their support to the Organization and its hospitals and for the productive and constructive dialogue we have developed and will continue to develop with them," he added.

During the meetings, which are being initiated by the Agency ahead of the submission of its budget for 2022, a wide range of issues concerning the OCYPY's hospitals, Health Centres, Mental Health Services and Ambulance Service are being discussed, with the main one being that of their financial and administrative autonomy and the situation in the Agency's hospitals with regard to hospitalisations of patients with Covid.

As stated, "recognizing its great responsibility to continue to play its role as a pillar in the health sector, the OCYPF is implementing an ambitious reorganization plan for administrative and financial autonomy, so that it can better respond to the new competitive environment of the General Health System".

He concludes by stressing that with continuous investment in infrastructure, human resources and research, OKYPY is constantly upgrading itself in order to improve the services offered, for effective coverage of the health needs of the entire population.
