At least 100 people who attended the party celebrating Taylor Swift's "Red" album tested positive for coronavirus.

Although the 32-year-old American singer was not at the event. Covid-19's broadcast, as it was a fan gathering to celebrate the re-release of her album in 2012, the 600 or so people who were there should be quarantined.

"Anyone who attended 'On Repeat: Taylor Swift Red Party' at Sydney's Metro Theatre on December 10 "is a close contact and should be tested immediately and isolated for 7 days," New South Wales health authorities warn.

At least 97 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. It is possible some of these cases have the "Omicron" variant of concern, the warning notes.

Some people who attended the event "checked in" via a QR code, facilitating NSW Health's ability to contact them.



"Penalties for non-compliance with isolation, diagnostic testing and quarantine requirements have been increased to $5,000 for individuals (from $1,000) and $10,000 for companies (from $5,000)," the statement concludes.
