The voter turnout in the early morning hours of the early "parliamentary elections" in the occupied territories was low.

As reported from the occupied territories, the "chairperson" of the "supreme electoral council", Narine Ferdi Shefik, told "Bayrak" that the turnout rate at 15:00 was at 43.42%. By then, 37.37% had voted in Nicosia, 38.88% in Famagusta, 40.60% in Kyrenia, 39.2% in Morphou, the highest turnout rate of 65.19% in Trikomo and 39.31% in Lefka.

At 11:30 the percentages ranged from 11.6% to 16.6%. In Nicosia 13.8% had voted, in Famagusta 13.2%, in Kyrenia 11.6%, in Morphou 126%, in Trikomo (where the largest number of settlers live) 16.6% had voted and in the Lefka area 12.9%.

The abstention rate is expected to be high, according to the polls that had seen the light of day.

The "police" announced that 4 people were reported to have taken a picture of their ballot paper with their mobile phone.

Ersin Tatar[/B] in statements after exercising his right to vote at noon called on people to come to the polls. Due to the pandemic, participation may be affected, he added, saying that this election is very important. "Iniallah the turnout will be good,"[/B] he said, urging people to go to the polls by taking necessary measures. He hoped that the "legislation" would be regulated so that tens of thousands of TCs living abroad would have the right to vote.

Tatar reiterated that they have a "state" and their own sovereignty to govern. They are fighting, he continued, for a more secure, safer and more prosperous future for the TCs. He also hoped for a stable "government" that would make serious reforms a reality.

Early in the morning, CEC chairman Faiz Suzhouoglu, whose party is reportedly in the lead, voted first. He said that there was an election campaign befitting of the T/Cs, without tensions and heated debates. The "village" in his words - needs political stability in order to achieve economic stability. "Insiallah to have a good turnout," he said.

PKK chairman Toufan Erhiurma called on people to go to the polls and show their will." The "elections", he said, are being held in difficult conditions, but people are observing the measures by going to the. It is an "election", he continued, both for the present and for the future of the TCs who have established the culture of democracy for decades and are holding their "elections" within the framework of this culture.

CKD President Cemal Ozyit said that despite the pandemic conditions, his party's candidates listened to the people, their problems. Now it is the turn of the people to speak, he added, saying they look forward to people going to the polls and voting freely. "It is time for equality, justice for the young and the new generations," he said.

CL Chairman Kudret Ozersai called on the people to show their will at the ballot box "to pass these difficult days, for the people to win," in his words.

PP chairman Fikri Ataoglu said they went to the people and explained their vision and how they would "govern." Now, he added, it is the people's turn to speak.

CA chairman Erhan Arikli said the "elections" should not have been held under this system and not even in the middle of winter, amid a pandemic outbreak. At the moment, he added, there are 6,000 people wearing the monitoring bracelet (SS: they are in quarantine) and watching the "elections" on TV. He expressed confidence that the participation rate in the "elections" will be below 60% saying that "in this cold weather people do not leave their homes easily".

KKA chairman Mehmet Chakiji said that these "elections" are very different, where the oppressors and the oppressed are fighting and in these circumstances he entrusted his party to the T/C "people." Every election, he continued, is an opportunity for the democratic T/C president. The T/C "people", he added, suffered enough, were crushed, annihilated and subjected to cruelties. "Today is the day of the uprising. Either the change will start tomorrow morning or it is as far away as the stars. He said he voted for private sector employees who do not speak, for nature that cannot defend its rights, for oppressed women.

Former T/C leaders Mehmet Ali Talat, Dervis Eroglu and Mustafa Akinci also voted in the "elections", although Akinci had not announced a time for exercising his right to vote. Nor did he make any statement.
