Companies are giving time for charges at Limassol Port, while the Minister of Transport is in communication with the Ministry of Finance and the General Prosecutor's Office for a comprehensive and feasible proposal to resolve the issue.
As stated in an announcement, following consultations with the operating companies at the Port of Limassol, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousos, welcomes the intention of P&O Maritime Cyprus to apply, as of February 1, 2022, an increase rate of 6.62%, instead of 16.6%, to ships entering and leaving the Port for cargo discharge.[/B]
At the same time, the Minister was informed of the decision by Eurogate Container Terminal Limassol Ltd to delay until February 28 the increase in its charges to give the Government time to work out ways to mitigate the issue.
At the same time, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works is in communication with both the Ministry of Finance and the Attorney General's Office to prepare a comprehensive and feasible proposal to resolve the issue.
