Health Commissioner in Cyprus for meetings with Foreign Ministry and Health Ministry

Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakidou[/B] will be in Cyprus[/B] on Friday for contacts in the context of the promotion of the European Health Union, according to a Commission statement.

Kyriakidou has a meeting with Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela, during which the latest developments on the front of the COVID-19 pandemic and the progress in the implementation of the national vaccination campaign, both in Cyprus and at European and global level, will be discussed. They will also discuss the progress of the proposals for the implementation of the European Health Union.

The Commissioner will also meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides and will visit the Children's Vaccination Centre at the Health Centre of Latsia.

Mrs. Kyriakidou will also deliver the keynote speech at an event entitled "From farm to plate: food safety" at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, on the occasion of Cyprus' submission of its strategic plan for the Common Agricultural Policy. The event will also be addressed by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Costas Kadis.

On Saturday, Mrs. Kyriakidou will participate in a conference co-organised by the Glafkos Clerides Institute (which is the research centre of DISY) and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies (which is based in Brussels and is the research centre of the European People's Party), in the framework of the Conference on the Future of Europe.
