The Vice-President of the European Commission is paying an official visit to Cyprus, responsible for promoting the European way of life, Margaritis Schinas from today until Tuesday 22 February as announced by the Commission.

The Vice-President of the Commission will visit the Green Line and projects that have received funding from the European Union, and will have private meetings with President Anastasiades, as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou.

Mr. Schinas will also have a series of meetings with the Ministers of Interior Nikos Nouris, Health Michalis Hadjipandela, Justice and Public Order Stefi Drakou and Education, Youth, Culture and Sports Prodromos Prodromou as well as with other Cypriot politicians.

The latest developments on migration, external relations, health, education and security will be the subject of the contacts.

The Vice President will also participate in an interfaith dialogue meeting with Cyprus' religious leaders, and will speak at events held in Cyprus under the umbrella of the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The Vice President will also give a lecture at the University of Cyprus and have a discussion with students, academics and representatives of civil society.
