The Commissioner for Legislation sent on Tuesday to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for submission to the Council of Europe, through the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Cyprus, a text of Written Comments on the 6th Evaluation Report of Cyprus by the Committee of Experts of the Council of Europe under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, ratified by Law 39(III)/1993.
A notice states that the document was prepared by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth as the Ministry responsible for the Charter in cooperation with the Legislative Commissioner's Office on the basis of information provided by the relevant Ministries/Services.
In particular, views were received from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Commissioner for the Presidency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, as well as from Departments and Agencies under the above Ministries.
The document will be posted on the Website of the Office of the Commissioner for Legislation (www.olc.gov.cy), under the section on International Human Rights Treaties.
